I never believed that love could begin with a simple message on my phone. In Kenya, we often meet people through friends, church, work, or family introductions. But for me, my love story started online.
One evening, while scrolling through profiles, I came across hers. There was something about her smile and the warmth in her profile that made me stop and say, “Let me just say hello.”
That simple “hello” changed everything.
We started chatting about life, our dreams, our favourite Kenyan foods, and even debating whether nyama choma is better with kachumbari or ugali. 😂 Slowly, our conversations became longer, our calls became more frequent, and I found myself looking forward to hearing from her every day.
Eventually, we decided to meet. I remember the excitement—and the little nervousness—as I waited to see her in person. The moment we met, it felt strangely familiar, as if we had known each other for much longer.
Today, we laugh about how our beautiful journey started with a profile, a message, and a little courage.
